Our translation/localization team was formed in the early 90’s. This was a time of global expansion of information technologies and computer software and hardware of world leading manufacturers in the Russian market. Since then the growth potential of the Russian market has considerably increased, establishing greater opportunities.

As a result, a great number of translation and localization companies were established by enthusiasts in Russia. Most of them included amateur programmers, qualified users and hardly any linguists. This led to uncertainty in translation styles and variety in rendering one and the same term (and mishmash in terminology).

Under these conditions, there appeared the idea to organize a strong team of professionals in all fields of translation-related expertise, including

  information technologies,
  computer science,
  electronics,
  communications and
  linguistics,

to provide a more accurate, conscientious, and diligent professional translation and localization using state-of-the-art technology.

In 1995, the team joined Diamecs Ltd.

Since then, the marketing policy has been aimed at constantly enlarging the translation market share from basic hardware and software localization to translation in different areas, such as business/marketing, advertising issues, medicine, technical instructions, industry and technology, and science.

In 1999, we decided to change the name of the company to Diamecs Engineering, Ltd. This name change represents the seamless integration of our translation services with software development and other related activities. It will emphasize the role of our company as a full-service provider in the new Millennium.
